We recorded this release over an afternoon last summer in Beijing-- one mic, off the floor-- just as I was getting ready to move back to Canada. ‘We’ is me and two of the most interesting musicians I’ve ever met, Xiaokai from Shenzhen, and Nathan who showed us around the jam spaces of Beijing.

The recordings are lo-fi and DIY, just an improv. But, for what they are, I think they’re pretty good. From the first half’s shades of Yo La Tengo, to what might loosely be called experimental, the release captures 3 musicians working together to make new music.

To me it sounds like it captured a moment in time, and like it could have been a neat project if we had more time.
